Product Description
The creation of this architectural Last Supper was an act of devotion. This beautiful representation is presented in .925 sterling silver over plaster in this one of a kind artisan high relief.
Measurements are 17 inches x 8 inches by 3 inches deep. The silver is marked .925 and the overall weight is just under 7 lbs.
Process: This 3D depiction of the Da Vinci’s Last Supper was first sculpted in clay. The artist then made a mold of the sculpture and when the mold was complete, they cast the image in plaster. Sheets of sterling silver were joined, heated to ensure that every detail was retained in the finished piece, and bonded to the plaster surface.
As the artist worked their way through this process, air trapped in the plaster expanded when heated, leaving a couple of areas where the silver is not fully bonded to the plaster surface. The silver surface remains intact and the glory of this piece is undiminished.
There is a cosmetic crack at one corner as shown; There are signs of adhesive on the back, indicating that this heavy architectural Last Supper was once installed.
**This fine art piece will be boxed for shipping.**
