Sculpted, fired copper brooch created in modern times to evoke an ancient South American vibe. The shape isn’t specific to Inca or Aztec legend, instead showing a more earthly tribal figure. The medium allows a truly “molten metal” feel to the finished piece.
The best part (for me…) is this piece lead me to learn something brand new about jewelry: There is a sculpting medium called “metal clay” which combines micron-sized ingots of metal mixed with organic clay-like material. This medium can be sculpted like clay, then fired in a kiln to burn off all of the organic matter, leaving you with solid metal – in this case, copper – in the sculpted shape. How cool is that?!
This brooch measures 50 mm from top to bottom and 35 mm at the widest point. The finished piece weighs 12 grams. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our unique jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
