Product Description
Magnificent 1930s Austrian crystal multi strand cocktail necklace. This gorgeous statement piece is four strands securely strung and finished with a crystal embellished clasp. Even the adjustable chain at the clasp is embellished with Austrian crystal. My mother had a single strand like this and she treasured them. When I crossed paths with this beauty, I knew I had to release them into the wild!
Austrian crystal is handmade using a technique traditionally known for cutting hand-blown glass. The perfection of the material and workmanship produce exceptional finished beads. Light refraction within this clear cut crystal creates the genuine aurora effect.
There are more than 220 individual Austrian crystal beads in this necklace, with an overall weight of 83 grams. The necklace has clearly been well cared for; The condition is very good. The strands are still tight, allowing just enough room for drape with no exposed line. No chipping or breakage was noted, and only very light wear to the surface facets of some of the crystal beads, in keeping with age and storage.
This Austrian crystal multi strand necklace has a graduated 3 inch variation between the top strand and the bottom, leading to the gorgeous waterfall effect your see in the photos. The adjustable clasp allows the length to vary from 14 inches to 17 inches long (measuring along the top strand) and an extender could be added easily enough if you were looking for a deeper drape.
