Product Description
If you’ve never seen another ring like this one, you are not alone. This bespoke grizzly bear design combines sculpt and repousse cast to create a beautiful bear in her natural habitat. The full band is etched with the sawtooth sunrise pattern.
Bears play a powerful role in the storytelling of Indigenous Americans as symbols of strength and family. I believe this unsigned piece was created as a gift with one person in mind, which is perhaps why the artist felt a signature was unnecessary. The etching around the band marks this as a Pueblo piece and the satin finish on the silver (rather than a high shine) is more likely Navajo than Hopi. Beyond that, there isn’t any specific indication of the artist’s identity, tribal or personal.
This ring is currently size 9. The featured design measures 30 mm from top to bottom and 15 mm parallel to the band. The band is unmarked sterling silver and it weighs just over 6 grams. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our fine jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
