BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA 1977 1st Ed. Katherine Paterson

This is the Newberry Award winning novel, Bridge to Terabithia, by Katherine Paterson. Inspired by true events, it has become a classic in children’s and young adult literature.  This is a first edition, first printing hardcover volume via the original publisher, Harper Collins, complete with dust jacket. This first edition is in good condition for your reading pleasure.

The dust jacket shows signs of shelf wear, and the binding has quite a bit of play in it. With just a few exceptions, the inside pages are clean and free to marks or folds. In the front of the book, one of the pages has a Merry Christmas inscription dated 1993. Take your time with the photos. This Bridge to Terabithia is warmed by time and multiple readings.

Bridge to Terabithia Plot description: Jess Aarons has been practicing all summer so he can be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. And he almost is, until the new girl in school, Leslie Burke, outpaces him. The two become fast friends and spend most days in the woods behind Leslie’s house, where they invent an enchanted land called Terabithia. One morning, Leslie goes to Terabithia without Jess and a tragedy occurs. It will take the love of his family and the strength that Leslie has given him for Jess to be able to deal with his grief.
