Product Description
Sweet brass carved pumpkin earrings with big autumn smiles. These cheerful golden jack-o-lanterns are perfect to brighten the harvest season!
The origin of the traditional jack-o-lantern comes from an Irish myth about Stingy Jack. Stingy Jack tricked the Devil (twice!) for his own monetary gain. When Jack died, God wouldn’t allow such a tricky man into heaven, and the Devil wouldn’t let him into hell, so Jack was sentenced to roam the earth for eternity. In Ireland, people started to carve demonic faces out of turnips to frighten away Jack’s wandering soul. When Irish immigrants moved to America, they began carving jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins, as these were native to the region.
These brass carved pumpkin earrings are light weight and petite, measuring just over half an inch in diameter.
