Product Description
Delicate silver filigree, draped to form the graceful lotus and layered to form the fluffy chrysanthemum bloom in this Chinese Garden brooch. At the center, one bold blossom is featured with an amethyst center and petals made of blue and green turquoise. The fine filigree work is unparalleled; A true treasure from an era long gone.
This Chinese Garden is a family piece, gifted to my mother in the 1940s by a family friend who was a missionary in China in the 1920s. The back is marked China Silver but for decades, Chine stamped all pieces – old and new – as they left the country, so the true age of this piece is difficult to determine. The brooch measures 38 mm tall and 50 mm wide parallel to the clasp.
**Our fine jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
