Lovely vintage Chinese Wedding Bracelet; Double bamboo and sterling silver bangle bracelet with sterling silver braid and three sterling clasps. The silver design shows a garden scene filled with delicate butterflies and open-face blooms. Each of the 3 clasps appears to be a winged beetle, possibly a ladybug. Beetles and butterflies are both seen as omens of transformation and rebirth. They are beautiful symbols to escort a lady through her transformation from Bride to Wife.
This is a finely crafted piece likely created in the 1970s or a bit later. Designed for the modern bride wanting a more traditional touch on their wedding day, and to celebrate renewed diplomatic relations and trade between China and the US. This is a beautiful quality wedding bracelet made in the relatively recent past to emulate the antique Chinese wedding bracelets of centuries past.
The design measures 14 mm from top to bottom and 7.5 inches around the inside of the bangle. PLEASE be sure to measure your HAND at the widest point (usually at the base of the thumb) to make sure that the bangle will be able to slip comfortably onto your wrist. Though “clasp” is the correct term for the moveable embellishments, this bangle does not open, nor is it adjustable.
**Our fine jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
