Product Description
Fabulous comedic copper sock theater mask – the “sock” of sock and buskin fame – cast in pure copper. The depth of expression is accented by oxidization of the metal, and the mask is backed with a copper plate which contains the bale.
Sock and Buskin theater masks are two ancient symbols of comedy and tragedy. In Greek theater, actors in tragic roles wore a boot called a buskin as a sign of their higher status; Comedic actors wore a thin-soled shoe called a sock. These masks are sometimes described as “Laugh Now, Cry Later.” May the arts always bring you far more laughter than tears!
This comedic copper sock charm measures approximately 1 inch long and weighs 3 grams. It has been polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our unique jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
