Our Courageous Mother rosary is a five decade holy rosary created as an act of devotion. Pray the mysteries on carnelian, banded agate and hematite, chosen to ease elders hands with larger beads. For your Apostles Creed, this forged in fire bronze cross is as solid as your faith.
Egyptian lore refers to carnelian as “the setting sun” and associates the rich color with the vitality of life itself. Soldiers wore it into battle to foster courage and it adorned the headdresses of women who served in the Goddess’ temples. Carnelian is associated with the Goddess Isis in her role as healer, and with the sacral chakra.
Carnelian and agate are both types of quartz stone; The “pure” stones in this hue are classified as carnelian, while anything with a bands or wider color variation is classified as an agate. The art nouveau Mary centerpiece is my own design, available exclusively through WhyteWing, as is this cross.
This Courageous Mother rosary measures approximately 28 inches around the loop, with an additional 5 inches for the pendant from the bottom of the centerpiece to the bottom of the cross. The stones are carnelian and banded agate with hematite between each decade. They are approximately 8 mm each, hand beaded onto solid brass wire. This is a larger rosary weighing 60 grams (just over 2 ounces).
Brass and bronze will patina over time, revealing highlights with your touch. This process is natural; Use of corrosive solvents or dips is not recommended.
