Glamorous Edwardian style crowning glory ring crafted with an Arts and Crafts appreciation for the process being seen – even featured – in the final product. This piece is hand cast bronze, polished so that the high points of her crown and flowing hair catch the light.
From Victorian times up until the Great War (WWI), long flowing tresses were admired in art and reality alike. It was a right of passage for a young lady to refrain from wearing her hair down in public. At the age of 17, she would begin to wear her hair up, coiled and securely pinned in a manner that implied luxurious tresses… without giving too much away! The artists of the day showed no such propriety. They painted adult women with flowing tresses, particularly in advertising, to draw the eye and pique the public interest.
This ring is size 5.5. The crowning glory design measures approximately 32 mm long. That translates to approx. 1.5 inches from the tip of her crown to the last curl at her shoulder. The metal content is unmarked bronze and she weighs 6.5 grams. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our unique jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
