Fabulous chunky Mod charm bracelet featuring oversize golden hearts set with aqua blue cut glass gems. Bold free form polycarbonate (1960s heat molded plastic) charms alternate with deep amber murano glass beads. I used murano glass to replace the original mid-century paste-pearls, which were a mess. The amber echoes the gold tone of the hearts and picks up the tiny brown flecks in the green charms, so it’s a good complement.
All the world recognizes the traditional heart shape as a symbol of romantic love and affection. How and when that began – the historical origin – is difficult to pin down. No matter how it started, the romantic heart shaped talisman is certainly a part of the dance between sweethearts today.
The double link bracelet measures 7.5 inches in length and it weighs a substantial 88 grams (just over 3 ounces). It is in flawless condition. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
