Halcyon Days enamel box featuring a Capuchin monkey (or possibly a Squirrel monkey) silhouetted against a blue summer sky. This scene is hand painted and signed with the initials R.S. The body of the box is blue and the inside of the lid shows a line drawing of a flowering plant.
This box has a scratch in the enamel across the monkey’s haunch. The scratch is not deep and is difficult to see with the naked eye, but the camera catches it every time (that’s how I discovered it!). There is also a faint surface scratch on the bottom of the box, and the price has been adjusted accordingly. Beyond that, this piece is in lovely condition and the copper findings are all in good working order. The original Halcyon Days display box is included.
