This art deco heart ablaze pendant is the last word in genuine 1920s sparkle. The design is double sided with a complete triple blaze of marcasite set on each side. All stones are intact and the perfume bottle pendant itself is in gorgeous antique condition. The threaded top has a good seal to keep your favorite fragrance safe and sound.
All the world recognizes the traditional heart shape as a symbol of romantic love and affection. How and when that began – the historical origin – is difficult to pin down. Some believe the iconic shape is derived from ivy leaves, which are associated with fidelity. Others contend it was modeled after the seedpod of a species of giant fennel that once grew on the North African coastline. No matter how it started, the heart shaped talisman is certainly a part of the dance between sweethearts today.
This heart ablaze pendant measures 40 mm from top to bottom (approx 1.5 inches) and 25mm (approx 1 inch) at the widest part. Total weight (sans perfume, of course) is 11 grams. This piece is unmarked sterling silver. It is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
The chain is a new (modern day) double strand sterling silver chain with toggle closure. The chain is 20 inches long and the pendant is mounted with a heavy gauge sterling silver jump ring.
