Product Description
A single drop of deep sea teal glass reveals another world where bright confetti flowers dart between sparkling mica and the changing light. This millefiori teardrop pendant is vintage Murano glass with a brass link bail and twisted brass chain necklace.
Millefiori, also known as Murrine, is one of the best-known and highly sought after techniques of Murano glass making. It stands for “a thousand flowers” in Italian, and the result often evokes a field of whimsical flowers. In this piece, the flowers appear to be playing in the tide and surf.
This millefiori teardrop is a bold statement. The glass alone measures 60 mm long (just under 2.5 inches), and weighs 24 grams. The teardrop is attached by a hard-fired brass chain bail and suspended from a twisted artisan brass chain of the same vintage.
The artisan twisted brass chain is 26 inches long, and each strand is created with a “knitted brass” technique. There is tone variation to the vintage knitted brass, as you would expect. The oversize lobster clasp is brand new and in excellent working order. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used. The glass surface is blissfully unscratched by its travel through time.
**Our unique jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
