Product Description
Our Rosary of the Seven Sorrows is a seven week holy rosary based on the prayer that founded the Servite Order. It is also known as a Servite Rosary. This one is moss agate hand beaded onto copper using the wrapped wire technique. Separating each week is a hand cast copper medallion of Our Sorrowful Mother, Mary. The centerpiece and cross are also solid copper cast right here in the WhyteWing studio.
Moss agate is a visual distinction, not a geological one. These moss agate stones are natural prehnite with inclusions of iron that cause the appearance of “moss” within the stone.
This servite rosary measures approximately 40 inches around the loop, with an additional 5 inches for the pendant from the centerpiece to the bottom of the cross. The centerpiece itself is 30 mm and the crucifix is 40 mm. That translates to 1.25 inches and 1.5 inches (respectively) in solid copper. The wire work and chain are copper as well. Overall, this rosary weighs 86 grams.
Copper will patina over time, revealing highlights with your touch. This process is natural; Use of corrosive solvents or dips is not recommended.
**Our fine rosaries are always boxed for shipping.**
