Product Description
Feast your eyes on the Tiger’s Moon! Double strands of tumbled tiger’s eye and a stunning hand hammered silver disk bring you the moon through cat’s eyes. The disk features a single polished tiger’s eye cabochon, set with immaculate precision. It is a luxurious celebration, raising simple materials to their elegant best!
This piece was hand wrought in Israel by artist Avi Soffer. Soffer trained in both Israel and Denmark, and spent decades honing the language of molten metals and organic design. Truly, he is a master of letting the materials speak and encouraging their nature to become the design.
Soffer often uses multiple elements and techniques in one piece, but the power of this necklace is it’s restraint. My chorus teacher once told me that it’s much more difficult to sing softly than to belt out a tune. With this design, Soffer sings softly and allows the elements to spin their tale.
The tumbled tiger’s moon strands measure 18 inches long. The disk is 50 mm (approximately 2 inches) wide, and hammered from heavy gauge silver. The disk is marked .925 and it is signed by the artist. Overall the necklace weighs 109 grams (just over 4 ounces). Our jewelry is polished by hand and at our discretion, a portion of the patina is left in place; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our fine jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
