Product Description
Who can resist the romance tall ships slicing through the waves, salt breezes snapping in their sails? This niello frigate brooch brings that moment to life! Siam built 1000 years of culture before changing the name of their nation to Thailand in 1939. Siamese niello enamel work usually tells the story of dragon boats and the warrior’s dance. This 1940’s design is something special, bringing east and west together offering tribute to the warriors of the new world.
The niello enamel is created with less sulfur in the mix, creating a gleaming gun metal glass rather than the usual black. The effect is one of a deeper, richer silver than the sterling that surrounds it. After all, even a stormy ocean reflects the light!
This niello frigate design measures approximately 45 mm from top to bottom. That translates to 1.75 inches and it weighs 7 grams overall. The back is marked to confirm .925 sterling silver purity and there is an individual artist’s hallmark which is really rare for these Siamese niello pieces. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our fine jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
