Product Description
Sock and buskin pierced work earrings in solid copper. The bold faces of comedy and tragedy presented in oxidized copper. Frank Rebajes chose the sock and buskin theater masks as an ongoing theme in his work at the forefront of the art to wear movement.
Sock and Buskin theater masks are two ancient symbols of comedy and tragedy. In Greek theater, actors in tragic roles wore a boot called a buskin as a sign of their higher status; Comedic actors wore a thin-soled shoe called a sock. These masks are sometimes described as “Laugh Now, Cry Later.” May the arts always bring you far more laughter than tears!
The design measures 26 mm from top to bottom and together they weigh 5 grams in pure copper. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our unique jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
