Product Description
Round sterling silver perfume bottle from the artisan silversmiths in Taxco Mexico. Clean, elegant lines make this a perfect addition to your collection.
In 1931, Taxco Mexico was an established site for silver mines but had no silversmith industry to work the metal. William Spratling, already an established voice in the burgeoning modernist movement, decided to bring his jewelry design business to Taxco. He trained and ultimately collaborated with local silversmiths. From this seed of a cottage industry, the rich tapestry of Taxco silver work was born.
The height of this round sterling silver perfume bottle, with the cap in place, from the top to the table surface, is approximately 45 mm (approximately 1.75 inches). It is 40 mm wide (approximately 1.5 inches). This piece is marked .925 for sterling silver purity.
