Product Description
This scrimshaw tall ship ring is a beautiful example of everything I love about artisan jewelry. The bovine bone is shaped and the scrimshaw design is etched with loving care by an amateur hand. The ring is an Indigenous American sawtooth setting with silver braid trim. The silversmith has hallmarked the off-set band rather than the back of the bezel. It’s a unique choice in a piece like this and may indicate that the silversmith and the scrimshander are two separate artisans working in separate eras.
This scrimshaw tall ship ring is size 6. The design measures 20 mm from top to bottom and 10 mm parallel to the band. The band is marked sterling and signed with a fox head hallmark belonging to an unknown maker. Overall, the ring weights 3.5 grams. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our fine jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
