Product Description
This silver Egyptian story bracelet reveals the romance of Isis and Osiris. The lovers are flanked by the sphinx in repose, waiting patiently as Isis embarks on her quest to rescue her husband, and the sphinx standing guard as Isis uses her powers to make her husband whole and the two are reunited. The clasp charm is a scarab, the Egyptian symbol for transformation and rebirth.
This panel bracelet is an antique of substantial weight and artistry, created in coin silver. The panels are cast in solid pieces with a degree of detail hand sculpted as each piece was finished. This was an enormous amount of work and produced a lovely quality souvenir for travelers completing their Grand Tour more than a century ago. The bracelet closes with a charm clasp featuring a scarab beetle.
This silver Egyptian story bracelet drapes beautifully on the wrist. There is no hallmark of any kind, but the panels test as coin silver (approximately .800, or a bit less). The chain and lead-free pewter scarab charm are replacements for the originals, gone missing through the ages. The overall weight is an impressive 46 grams.
This six panel cuff bracelet is adjustable to fit wrists from 6.5 to 8 inches. Your jeweler could easily extend the chain, but the panels themselves meet at 6.5 inches so it can’t go any smaller than that. Our jewelry is polished by hand; No corrosive solvents or dips are used.
**Our antique jewelry is always boxed for shipping.**
