Product Description
The gentle figure of Saint Alexandra of Rome, Martyr and Defender of Humanity, is featured in this sterling silver signet ring design. St Alexandra, wearing her three-point crown and veil, is meticulously carved from solid silver in high relief against the signet surface. The edge of the signet surface is faceted to give her a frame of light.
As the legend of Saint Alexandra begins, she is the wife of Roman Emperor Diocletian. Even as the persecution of Christians scoured the land around her, Alexandra’s deep conviction lead her to convert in secret. One of the Emperor’s Praetorian Guard was arrested for refusing to recant his Christian faith. St. George, as the guard would come to be known, was put to public torture in the arena. Empress Alexandra went to the arena and, kneeling before the prisoner, professed her faith aloud. Her husband imprisoned and ultimately beheaded her when she refused to recant.
This St Alexandra signet ring is size 7.5. The design surface measures approximately 17 mm from top to bottom and 15 mm parallel to the band. The band is marked .925 to confirm sterling silver purity and it weighs 7 grams. This ring was polished by hand; We do not use corrosive solvents or dips.
