Product Description
Our St Cecilia pocket rosary is handmade from the heart, featuring this beautiful tumbled agate. One decade of smoky carnelian stones are beaded onto brass using the traditional wrapped wire technique. The cross and fob are solid bronze, hand cast in the WhyteWing studio. St. Cecilia is the patron saint of poets and musicians.
Carnelian and agate are both types of quartz stone; The “pure” stones in orange hues are classified as carnelian, while smoky quartz is often mistaken for smoky topaz. These stones blend their hues into a gorgeous moody sunset of color. Egyptian lore refers to carnelian as “the setting sun” and associates the rich color with the vitality of life itself. It is the stone of courage and for those who include crystal work with their faith, it is associated with the sacral chakra.
This St. Cecilia pocket rosary is a single decade measuring 9.25 inches long. That includes the fob which is 1 inch in diameter, and the cross which is just under 2 inches from top to bottom. It’s a solid piece, weighing in at 23g overall, perfect for the weight of your faith!
Brass and bronze will patina over time, revealing highlights with your touch. This process is natural; Use of corrosive solvents or dips is not recommended. The stones in this rosary are natural and are tumbled just enough to make them smooth for your hands. Baroque shapes are to be expected and admired.
