Product Description
Just look at these proud tropical birds, fanning their feathers and making the most of their fabulous style! This mid century mod delight features a peacock and two parrots with amber jelly belly tummies set in golden tone metal. An array of accent charms completes the sunset palette. There are bakelite balls in a deep smoked-barrel whiskey tone, art glass in bright pineapple yellow, and mahogany colored baroque triangles.
This is a chunky bracelet. The peacock from measures 40 mm from tummy to tail feathers, and the parrots are 40 mm long. That translates to approximately 1.5 inches for each of the main charms. The vintage bakelite beads are my own more recent addition to this piece. The original design included mid century paste beads which didn’t weather the aging process well, so they were retired and these whiskey bakelite beauties stepped into the spotlight.
These tropical birds would be flying solo if it wasn’t for the double link textured brass chain that makes them a proper flock. The settings are all base metal alloy with a gold tone finish that is remarkably well preserved. The bracelet is 7.5 inches long including the clasp. The clasp is secure and in excellent working order, which is important because this charm bracelet weighs a grand 84 grams overall. That’s just over 3 ounces of glorious tropical delight!
